For a man that extends his patience beyond normal and healthy levels I feel I am finally being worn down. Do I give in? do I continue to fight the good fight? This setup here would test the patience of a saint, let alone a man that has issues himself to contend with.
'Pissed Off Clown' is a snapshot at what I am slowly but surely being reduced to. I am no longer the ringleader in this three ringed circus. I have been relegated to taking on a clowns persona, yet when I am pissed off this clown aint a happy go lucky clown. No matter how hard I try to hide my inner pain, it oozes out, my unhappiness cannot be masked.
So now who is the ringleader? We dont have one, we have 3 acts, a clown that also does trapeze, a lioness cub that is being trained by a clown and not the ringleader, and you dont need to know what the other act is. This circus has nearlly run its course.
'Catherine' was again another attempt to paint something more feminine and more earthly. Doesn't have the anger of the previous 'Glasshouses and am quite happy with what I have learnt with the random blending of colours.
Motivated by another artist, Catherine, who for a little while got me to glimpse life from another angle. Not sure why I revert back to this darkened place, guess thats why i choose art to communicate.
There are many times when my head is about to explode when the same old shit is repeated. Are we that brainless as a nation or is it an individual thing? Is being part of the crowd a green light to become indifferent and bury ones head in the sand?
What I'm trying to say here is that some people are so used to having their asses wiped for them they have forgotten how to wipe it themselves. I have hissy fits from time to time, this is one of them.
Glasshouses" started out as an attempt to paint something more gentle, more softer than what I normally would do. It ended up being about gay people and my contempt on how most of us say we are tolerant yet beneath the surface we are nothing short of a bunch of lying cunts. (my experience anyway)
